JACQUI FAYE, a self taught painter and portrait artist, is being increasingly received through her Red Shoe series – a style of genre-painting identifiable by the anonymity of her subjects and the ever present red shoes. Her work in acrylics is primarily figurative -- innocent, provocative, confident… her subjects springing from emotions often encountered by contemporary women of today.
Influenced by a wide range of both contemporary and historic masters, Ms. Faye has always been drawn to the works of Frederic Leighton, Gauguin, Modigliani, as well as artists Edward Hopper, Jack Vettriano, Benini and Renzo Galardini.
Her works reside in private collections in England, Scotland, Wales, and throughout Canada and the United States. Jacqui’s current gallery representation is with The Benini Studio and Sculpture Ranch, Johnson City, Texas and Chabot Fine Art Gallery, Providence, Rhode Island.
